Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actress working in TV and film is most well-known for her roles in films like Rush as well as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Being the sole daughter of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra began her career in showbiz from a young age. She played lead roles in television dramas as early as 16 years old. After the critically-acclaimed performance in the television movie Der Tunnel, Alexandra went on to play other noteworthy parts, including Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudljunge as well as the secretary of Adolf Hitler in Downfall. It was nominated for an Oscar and received critical acclaim. The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex are other Oscar nominated movies featuring female stars. Through the years, Alexandra has worked in several notable international and national projects. The projects she worked on include her work on the British biographical Control Greek Drama film The Dust of Time as well as French miniseries about the history of Napoleon. Additionally, she was part of both the Cannes Film Festival jury and Transylvania International Film Festival.
